Travellers

I'm looking at the Road to Emmaus on Sunday.  Mainly about how we recognise signs of Christ in those that are around us and in those we meet during our life's journey.

Being a big Runrig fan, one of their songs seems to fit in with the idea of travelling along life's road with folks.  Here are some of the lyrics:

This is your sister, this is your brother
This is your mother, not somebody's dream.....

          Travellers on an olden road
With all the baggage of our days and years....

Apple Prayer

On Sunday we looked at Eve's temptation by the snake.  I did a prayer for others based on an apple.  Here is the guidelines for it:

Outside of the apple reminds us of the created world, how we look after it,

Stalk reminds us of those who support us, family, friends, colleagues

The juicy flesh inside reminds us of the good things is our lives, food shelter etc

The pips remind us of the people around us, who we can show your love too, guard our actions

The bruises and marks remind us of those attached to us who feel battered and bruised,
those who have lost a loved one, whose health is fragile...

The core reminds us of the strength of your love.  Help us not to forget that.  AMEN

Starting the journey

I've toyed with the idea for a while about blogging, so here I am.  I read lots of blogs and hear lots of opinions and ideas.  So here I am starting the journey.  I love journalling, it helps me to focus and think about things.

The boots on my profile picture say it all.  They mean business, they are meant for walking, journeying through good and bad times.  That's what I do in life.  Be with folks at those times, trying to reflect a bit of God's love into their lives.  I know I don't always get it right - but I try.

So feel free to walk along with me, for a short time, or a long time.  I don't mind.
